====</line><line /><line>OBITUARY</line><line /><line>Edward Lamb, an old citizen of Brooklyn, passed to the life beyond at 12:20 o'clock Friday noon, May 25, 1906, after sixteen long months of patient suffering from cancer.</line><line /><line>He was born in West Meathe county, Ireland, in the year 1821 and came to America when about twenty years of age. He first located in Rutland, Vt., and was married to Miss Bessie Hanlon of the same place, in the year 1854: ten children being born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. In the year 1856 he moved to Edgerton, Wis., living there about four years; he then moved to a farm southwest of Brooklyn where he resided until the death of his wife in the year 1870. He was united in marriage to Margaret Eggleston, the present wife, in the year 1877; five children being born to this union. In 1885, he moved with his family to Brooklyn, Wis. where he has since resided. He was a hard working industrious man and was well liked by all who knew him.</line><line /><line>The funeral was held Monday forenoon at the Catholic church at Oregon, and he was laid to rest in the Stone School House cemetery.</line><line /><line>Weep not that his toils are over,
Weep not that his race is run,
God grant we may rest as calmly
When our work, like his, is done.
''Til then we yield with gladness,
Our father to Him to keep,
And rejoice in the sweet assurance,
"He giveth His loved one sleep."</line><line />
