TEXAS OIL OPERATOR PROMISES TO FIGHT STANDARD OIL CO IN UTAH
The grip of the Standard Oil company on the oil trade of Utah which has been absolute and uncontested for years past is soon to be fought by an independent Texas oil concern which has been secretly making arrangements for ten days past to come into Utah
and battle with the octopus.

To frame this in a larger context, Standard Oil was divested three years later. Fisher was hired by a former S.O.C. affiliate, Pierce Oil, then later by a non-affiliate, Sinclair Oil, run by another precocious man who could talk a good game, Harry Ford Sinclair.
