Announcing “teeny tiny websites”
I just haven’t been able to understand why even the smallest microbusiness doesn’t have its own domain name, website and email address, especially now. Unless you have too many customers, “I don’t need a website” just doesn’t make good business sense.
Perhaps my latest business venture, “teeny tiny websites” (www.teenytinywebsites.com), will help resolve this inconsistency.
For a business that “doesn't need a website,” a teeny tiny website can be as valuable as a company name: it provides an easy way for people to find the business, to tell others about the business via word-of-mouth, and it provides a web address (URL) for other sites to link to. Regularly sending email from the domain name email address serves as a regular reminder to others of the business’s domain name, making it easier for them to tell others about it. Sending email as @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com, @aol.com, @gmail.com wastes an opportunity to promote the microbusiness, and such waste really isn’t necessary or cost beneficial...more
